Today was the last day of term 2! In New Zealand we have 4 terms a year with a 2 week break in-between and a 2 and a half month break over christmas. The last week of term 2 at my school is called St Thomas’ week. We always have a haka and singing competiton where all our four houses (McClintock or Green, Marlow or Yellow, Joyce or Red, and Rice or Black). We have a practice each day leading up till friday when we have the competition. I am in McClintock which is green (Weird, I know, our houses have names named after old principals and etc.). This year our house sung My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion the Titanic movie song, I thought it was an okay song to choose but not enough shouting is in the song… We ended up coming 3rd which is disappointing considering we came 2nd last year and 1st the year before (surprisingly the year my brother was McClintock house captain). I think I will go for house captain when I’m year 13… I already thought of the perfect song, Where All In This Together from High School Musical
.
After the singing we had the haka… My house usually gets last in the haka, consider scaring people is our weak area. A haka is this Maori think the people native to New Zealand did. I think it’s really weird that everything related to Maori culture involves scaring people, I get the feeling they make more up about the culture as time goes by… Not that I have anything against their culture, I just really don’t enjoy doing it in front of people as I’m extremely bad at it! We ended up coming 3rd in that also, oh well… At least I’m not in rice, they came last in everything!
Afterwards we had lunch and then had a whole school mass. It went for the usual length of two periods… It was extremely long and boring. We had to sing heaps of religious songs… one song has this line in it that goes:
From the mighty lands of Europe and the continent of Asia.
Isn’t that a little racist?
Thank god know one gets offended!
My parents are considering taking my siblings and I on a cruise around the mediterranean. As my dad has M.S. so it’s easier to be on a cruise ship instead of traveling europe via airplane and airports. It should be really cool either way.
Friday nights used to be the second best night of television in New Zealand aside from wednesday! We used to have American Idol, now we have The Bachelor :surprised:. It’s the most annoying show, yet I watch it every week and can’t wait to see next week’s episode
… I don’t understand how people can go on to a reality tv show and fall in love? I was looking at The Bachelor and The Bachelorette successes and their was only one out of over 20 seasons…. Only one couple stayed together?!… After about an hour of tonight’s episode I got bored and couldn’t watch the rest so I came online! Here I am writing this blog…
I added the James and Hosting pages to the site and hope to do a lot more during the holidays!
I finally decided to use this domain after a year of neglect! I was bored a week ago and suddenly realized I still had my panicked.info domain name and hosting had indeed renewed after when I initially thought it had expired. I didn’t really think about it and in the moment decided to make a XMB Message Board, which I completed all on the same day! I later realized after a year away from the cyber world, you start to loose contacts, therefore no one to post! I then removed the XMB Message Board and uploaded WordPress!
I then decided to order a layout from my good friend, Shur at VoltageBox.org; , as I had nearly forgotten everything about coding a WordPress layout! The holidays start after tomorrow and I will add heaps of content to the site.
Today at school it all seemed to be going well… At interval me and my friends plugged my friends iPod into portable speakers and played songs like, Man! I feel like a Woman, Like a Virgin, Material Girl and Girls Just Wanna Have Fun! You’ve guessed it, very female oriented songs! It was a joke of course and it was sadly amusing.
Like I said above…. “it all seemed to be going well”… well after lunch, period 5, I had Social Studies, we had a relief teacher as our teacher is sick or some shit like that and we’ll, when our class has a relief teacher it means trouble… for the teacher of course! Haha. As usual the class misbehaved and got up to mischef, I expected a fun relaxed period when just before we were about to watch the video on the 1981 Spring Box Tour (about how New Zealanders protested South Africa playing Rugby in New Zealand when they didn’t allow black people to play for their team) when the teacher got sick of our shit and said, “The next person who speaks will be referred and go to the referral room.” At that point my mind was curious as I remembered where the old E.S.O.L (English for Speakers of Other Languages) room was and wondered if that was the knew referral room, I then said, “Is that where the old E.S.O.L room was?” The teacher went nuts…. Some old guy who has never been able to control our class suddenly burst on me, he screamed, he shouted, he got impatient after like a second and shouted, “RIGHT NOW!, COME WITH ME RIGHT NOW!”. I was shitting myself because referrals are about 1 million times worse than detentions (which I have sadly had plenty off…)! Everyone in the classroom laughed my friends were thinking shit, it was actually quite amusing for them. You have to picture the not goody-good but not bad-ass guy who was seen as nice, shy, etc. and you have you’re perfect me! When people like myself get referred its always entertaining… But lucky for me I wasn’t the only person referred… Another student I know in my class was referred for whacking the teacher in the ass with one of those 1 meter long teacher rulers (I told you we got up to mischef!), so I didn’t have to go their alone! When I got their I was lucky, no teachers were their, the other guy with me wanted to do a runner but I thought it was better to stay… Mr Knopp (my form teacher) then came in and gave us a form to fill out and wanted to talk about it with us. I told him what happened and so did the other boy. He took the other boys seriously… whacking teachers with rulers not exactly acceptable behavior! He laughed at my story and thought it was a joke, but didn’t say it, he told me I didn’t need to apologize and I had a good report and he wouldn’t take it seriously… It was nothing like a normal referral… I got out of class and the referral? I was just walking around the school waiting for period 6, science! I literally wanted to go back to the referral room to sit down! I’m so glad that went how it did… I will never do that again!
Afterwards instead of science we went to the far field with our teacher to watch our schools First XV Rugby team play. It was good fun as we gave my friends iPod and speakers to this guy who isn’t shy and he played the gayest music ever! People were looking at him funny and it was hilarious! Haha.
I then came home, went online, Shur finished my layout and yeah… here I am!
